加賀藩の居城であった金沢城の城址を整備してつくられた都市公園。園内には、木造城郭建築として五十間長屋や菱櫓、橋爪門続櫓などの歴史的建造物が復元されています。中には全面ガラス張りのカフェが併設された展示場もあり、歴史的建造物を眺めながらお茶を楽しむことができます。毎週金曜・土曜・祝日の前日に、日没から21時までの間は無料のライトアップも行なっていますので、昼とは違う夜の姿も見所です。

Once the home of the feudal lords of the Kaga Domain, today the rebuilt Kanazawa Castle is a city park located at the site of the original, where you’ll find historic reproductions of buildings like Gojikken Nagaya (a long warehouse), Hishiyagura (a diamond-shaped turret), and Hashizume-mon Gate. The nearby Tsurunomaru Rest House features a café, as well as a giant floor-to-ceiling window covering an entire wall, offering a stunning view of the castle for visitors to enjoy. And every Friday and Saturday night, and the night before each national holiday, there is a free light-up at the castle that runs from sunset until 21:00, for a unique feel unlike the daytime.
